Juventus has announced that it has been signed an agreement with the coach Claudio Ranieri for the technical management of the First Team. The three-years contract will be effective from 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2010.

With Claudio Ranieri, man of international experience and vision, able to embody the aims of the mid-team development plan approved by the Board of Directors, a season with a wealth of ambitions and new opportunities opens up. “I’m very proud for this opportunity. We will work hard to regain the proper position that Juventus deserves to have – mister Ranieri said –. The project is ambitious and I’m sure that we will be doing a very good job. Supporters can be reassured, they will be proud of what we’ll be doing in Italy and Europe. I didn’t expect this call from Juventus. It arrived last saturday evening. Until than I didn’t received any sort contact for any position. I coudn’t say no, because when Juventus calls and you get such a challenging opportunity you just grab it. Negotiations were under way with Manchester City, but they kept on postponing. Therefore after 15 days of silence, I decided to accept the Juventus call.

For Juventus, this is an authoritative choice fully in line with the company’s objectives and tradition. “Juventus lost many of its champions and we need to bring back the stability the company deserve. Our goal is to bring back Juventus at the top as soon as possible. To get this result we will make any effort we can but we need time – continued Ranieri - We are glad to have in our team champions as Buffon, Del Piero, Nedved and Camoranesi. These great players will share with us the task of growing up the young generation of Juventus. I’m glad for the players we just get. Grygera was already on my list for Chealsea. Criscito is very interesting, Salihamidzic is one of the best middle-fielder in Europe. I’d like to thank Juventus for choosing me. To me Juventus is not a final target but just a new beginnig. Up today I’ve been training to be a coach, now I can do it”.
